The Woodward Family started a bakery in 1954. Edwin Woodward prepared the pastries and donuts, while Clara, his wife, was the cake decorator.
In 1971, she opened Clara's Wedding and Party Shop, then a Wilton Store, only carrying Wilton products. It was the first shop of its kind in Central Texas.
Over the 35 years, times have changed, and Clara's is no longer limited to Wilton products. Clara's Wedding and Party shop also carries
products from many different companies and have access to thousands more.
Douglas, their son, attended the World Renowned Wilton School of Cake Decorating. He graduated in 1977 with his Master's. In 1978, Douglas opened the
first professional cake decorating school in Central Texas: Douglas' School of Cake Decorating. Currently, Douglas is the General Manager of both the School and the Shop.
